I've said this before, but here it is again, I love kids and taking pictures of them, especially in the street since they are so natural and they are not thinking what people is thinking about them. Children street photography is quite challenging and I'm no expert, but the little times I've tried to do it, has been always hard, since their parents almost all the times are around and you might get into trouble for just one picture.

On my EVS mid term training, we went to see a play for children in the famous theater on Torun. There were a lot of kids, some accompanied by their parents, like this child with his/her mom. When the show was about to start the mother was simply asking her child to shut it :)

Beach walk

Saint-Malo, France, 2012

A father was having a walk with his two children on the beach, the oldest one was ahead running while the little one was trying to keep at pace. A few hours later the sand was all covered by the high tide.

Hide and Seek

Giverny, France, 2012

Giverny is a small little town in Eure department really close to Paris. The town is best known for hosting Monet and being the inspiration for most of his artworks in his late years. These are the gardens of the Impressionism Museum, where some kids were playing hide and seek.

Carrousel

Piazza della Repubblica, Firenze, Italia, 2012

There's a very famous square in Florence called Piazza della Repubblica where there was a carrousel and kids were obviously enjoying the ride... this is one of those kids

baby girl

Torino, Italia, 2011

This baby girl was not alone, she was just playing in the ground with nothing and having fun, but in this particular moment she got distracted with a pigeon and was kinda disgusted by him. Her parents were close watching her so there's nothing to worry about :)

Getting out

Lyon, France, 2011

I took this picture back in July, and I already posted another picture with a child playing with the water in the same place... this one is a bit different though, since this child was caught (actually he made it on purpose) by the water in the spot were it grew really fast... so when it was too much, he moved away getting out of the water. Look at the expression in his face, is like saying, ok that's enough let's get the hell out!

Slide

Budapest, 2011

This kid was having so much fun sliding with the fountain water... he was actually really agile! Fountains in a good summer day are an attraction to kids, they like to get wet and play with the water... There were other kids playing as well, but this one was the most fun to see and photograph.

Concentrated

Plaza del Sol, Madrid, 2010

This kid was concentrated watching some street music band playing in Plaza del Sol. He wasn't quite smiling but he wasn't serious, he just seemed concentrated following the rhythm of the music. He looks like an adult...

Baba

Torino is full of drinkable water fountains, so people always go there to refresh themselves... like this little girl that was thirsty after driving her bike in the middle of the square...

Crying

Lyon, France, 2011

From what I could guess, this kid was crying because he didn't want to go into the building with his mother (maybe his home?), I guess he just wanted to stay in the place he was before! After a lot of crying, the mother just picked him and took him inside.

Raoul Wallemberg

Stockholm, 2011

Raoul Wallemberg was a swedish humanist who saved a lot of jews from the holocaust in the WWII. He issued false passports that gave them immunity. He died in the hands of the soviets. One of the many saviors who died trying to help others...

three on a motorcycle

Napoli, 2010

Napoli is a wonderful city, it kinda reminded me of my city Caracas, maybe because of the noise, or because of the fast the city moves, almost like it moved by itself, still, I'm sure there's no city in the world like Napoli, and no city in the world like Caracas. I found this couple taking their child (I suppose) between them in their bike, which is also a common thing in Caracas... so maybe I'm not so wrong when I feel Napoli looks kinda my city...
